Before you rent

• Get the App: The SIXT app is your go-to place for everything you need to know about your booking.

• Requirements: Don’t forget your passport or ID card and a credit card in your name. Some foreign nationals require an International Driver’s Permit so make sure you check before booking.

During your rental

• You’re Right: In Germany, people drive on the right-hand side of the road.

• The Autobahn: Although sections of the Autobahn do not have a speed limit, we recommend driving under 130 km/h (81 mph) and paying close attention to the road conditions.

• City Speeds: The speed limit in Munich is 50 km/h (31 mph), but most people drive slower.

I reserved a manual BMW 3 series with Enterprise and upon arrival they only had automatic. On a quest to find another manual only Sixt had a manual that wasn’t a base model. Admir was extremely helpful in searching all the available cars to help me find something that suited my needs. He provided true 5 star service. Sixt is notorious for slamming with you damage fees after return but I did not experience that. It went very smoothly and upon drop off the employee checking the vehicle told me there was no damage found and I was on my way.
