    The Advanced Technical Certificate in Public Accountancy prepares students who have already earned a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any discipline to meet eligibility requirements to sit for the uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination in the State of Texas. The certificate is designed for college-educated workers who opt for a career change to accounting and need additional credit hours. The program includes advanced topics in auditing, financial accounting and reporting, regulation/taxation, as well as financial and operational management.

    To become a CPA in Texas, you need a bachelor's degree, to pass the Uniform CPA Exam, at least two years of public accounting experience, and to meet ethics requirements. Then, you can apply for licensure through the TSBPA.
